Applications Open for the Valli Family Scholarship

Applications are now being accepted for the Valli Family Scholarship, valued at $8,600.

The scholarship will be paid in two installments, with half awarded during the first semester and the remaining half awarded during the second semester upon proof of enrolment in a post-secondary institution.

Preference will be given to mature students who have been out of high school or post-secondary school for at least one year. Applicants are invited to submit a written letter outlining their circumstances, educational goals and how continuing their education would improve their quality of life.

Consideration will be given to:

• Financial need, including verification of an application for student loan assistance

• Single mothers who demonstrate strong academic potential

• Personal challenges the applicant has overcome

• Work history and evidence of initiative, integrity, self-help and commitment

• The likelihood of successfully completing a two- to four-year post-secondary program

Applicants must also include a copy of their high school marks. Academic performance will be considered as an indication of future potential, with consideration given to factors such as employment, financial circumstances and family support.
